YOGA NIDRA MEDITATION
WHAT IS YOGA NIDRA MEDITATION
Yoga Nidra aims to our attention inwards, the breath balances and becomes quiet, an intention is set and you are guided through a journey of your senses. Through this we fall into a state of blissful awareness.
HOW IS YOGA NIDRA DIFFERENT TO NORMAL MEDITATION?
Traditional meditation practices generally are engaged sitting, with the purpose of increasing perception and intuition and being able to direct our attention and awareness. Yoga Nidra is practiced lying down, and is based on entry into altered states where the body is consciously asleep but awareness is present.
HOW WILL I FEEL DURING THE MEDITATION?
Yoga Nidra puts your brain waves into alpha state, in which Serotonin is released, which helps you to reach a place of inner calm. From this place fluctuations in the mind start to decrease and you begin to feel more at ease. The body moves into stillness and a deep feeling of tranquillity and relaxation occurs.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TO YOGA NIDRA?
It is a simple way to reduce stress, the process of the body scan and breath awareness calms the nervous system. It is easy to practice and follow along as I guide you. Yoga Nidra offers a space to explore what you need in the moment, as well as an opportunity to work on releasing long-held emotions
