DEEP STRETCHING

WHAT IS DEEP STRETCHING?

Stretching is the act of pulling a muscle from both ends (origin and insertion point) to release tension and tightness. Static stretching is what I refer to as Deep Stretching. It involves holding a position for a period of time which allows your muscles to loosen up, while increasing flexibility and range of motion.

WHY I LOVE DEEP STRETCHING?

Holding deep stretching gives your body a chance to wind down from your workout slowly, releasing tension from the muscles and a heap of endorphins into the blood stream. The focus on breathing gets you in the perfect zone for meditation.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF DEEP STRETCHING?

  1. Improved Flexibility and Range of Motion

  2. Decreased Risk of Injury

  3. Increased Blood Flow

  4. Improve Recovery Time

  5. Improves Coordination, Balance and Postural Awareness

WHY DO WE STRETCH AFTER THE WORKOUT?

Mobility refer to the quality of movement. Flexibility is the range of movement at a joint which can be limited by surrounding muscles length and tension
